Atlanta Clinical Research Centers has board certified physicians who are passionate about clinical research and patient care.

Dr. Bobby Khan MD, PhD - Executive Director and Principal Investigator

Dr. Khan is a physician and investigator at the Atlanta Clinical Research Centers.  He received his BA (with high honors) from Vanderbilt University in 1984 and MD/PhD (with honors) from the University of Tennessee in 1990. He completed his Residency at UCLA Medical Center and Cardiology Fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1993, he joined the faculty of Emory University School of Medicine as Assistant Professor of Medicine in Cardiology and became Director of the Coronary Care Unit and Cardiovascular Research Lab at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.  Dr. Khan was awarded the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship. His topic of focus relates to global health and initiatives including preventive forms of medicine, specifically in the role of cardiovascular health.
Dr. Khan’s interest in clinical research propelled him to establish the Atlanta Vascular Research Foundation and Atlanta Clinical Research Centers focusing primarily on measures to reduce or reverse inflammation and blockages in the arteries of the heart, diabetes mellitus, hypertension and metabolic syndrome.


Dr. Keith Ferdinand, MD, FACC - Principal Investigator

Dr. Ferdinand received his BA degree in 1972 from the University of New Orleans and MD degree from Howard University in Washington DC in 1976.  Dr. Ferdinand is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners, American Board of Internal Medicine, Sub Specialty of Cardiology, Board of Nuclear Cardiology, American Society of Hypertension, Specialist in Clinical Hypertension and Cardiovascular Credentialing International, Vascular and Echocardiography Certification. More recently he is a   Clinical Professor of Medicine, Emory University and Chief Scientific Officer, Association of Black Cardiologists, Inc.  Dr. Ferdinand has done extensive research in hypertension in the African American population. After Hurricane Katrina, Dr. Ferdinand and his wife, Daphne, moved from New Orleans to Atlanta and he joined the staff of Atlanta Vascular Research Foundation.


Dr. Syed Rahman, MD - Principal Investigator

Dr. Rahman received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, (with honors) from Patna Medical College in Patna, India in 1993. He did his residency in Internal Medicine from Bronx, New York and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.  He joined the practice of Atlanta Cardiology and Primary Care in 1999 where he has a moderate-sized Internal Medicine/Primary care practice.
Dr. Rahman joined the staff of Atlanta Vascular Research Foundation in 2006.  He is an investigator on numerous clinical trials and his interests focus on diabetes mellitus and hypertension.



We are currently recruiting volunteers to participate in a number of clinical trials including diabetes, acute coronary syndrome, hypertension, stroke, acid reflux, smoking cessation, and dermatology.
